HISTORY OF SPARK:  An alumni of the Windham public school system Steve Kaminski Co-created the SPARK with Jim Baran and was inspired by the work he did with UCLA Arts Camps and U.S. Performing Arts. Steve's success as a producer in Los Angeles is credited to the many performing arts educators in Windham that influenced and inspired Steve to create the opportunities that he had as a youth in Windham.

SPARK has been blessed with many talented educators and artists that have been instrumental in creating the SPARK foundation.

These individuals include:

Kay Cole, Broadway veteran actress, dancer, and director. Kay was SPARK's first celebrity faculty in 2010.
Kay Cole has been an integral part of the American musical stage over 40 years.  She is a highly respected performer, director and choreographer and now is one of the most sought after artists to guide the next generation of performing artists.

Bob and Noel Brouillard-Veteran music educators whose exceptional talents helped launch the SPARK program in 2010. With their leadership, children have been inspired to sing and perform at their very best.

Allegra Plantier-Allegra is an outstanding educator and creative talent who brought her passion to SPARK inspiring both our SPARKLERS kids as well as our older participants.

SPARK is also grateful for the time and talents of veteran educators Dan Lein, Ed DiGiovanni and Cathie Rowe.

SPARK WAS OFFICIALLY RECOGNIZED BY THE CONNECTICUT GENERAL ASSEMBLY AS AN OUTSTANDING PROGRAM FOR THE ARTS. The Proclamation was presented by State Representative Susan M. Johnson.
